About
My name is Phil and I'm married with 2 kids. We live on the Northshore in Massachusetts. My work announced a generous paternity leave policy a year before I actually had kids, they were offering 40 days paid leave. 40 days of vacation! (or so I thought being a childless person). After my wife became pregnant and we figured out that I would take my leave on the days after her maternity leave and during the days she was working, thus leaving me by myself (alone) with a newborn. It was then I discovered how insane parenting can be. That was in 2013 and now another child later and another paternity leave taken (60 days now) I've embraced the insanity. I started posting pictures or short stories about what had gone on that day on Facebook for family and friends. While I was getting consistent "likes" I was also getting some great comments from a wide range of people, some I hadn't talked to since high school. I was then getting approached by people at weddings about how much they enjoyed my posts. So I decided to take it one step further and start this blog. While my paternity days have run out, I still find myself (like many other working families) parenting alone while my wife is at work. I still call them "paternity days" much to the disapproval of my wife who calls it "normal life". The blog posts at the beginning won't be in chronological order at the start of this blog as I am trying to build up content and will be drawing from past experiences. I hope you find the posts humorous and enjoyable because all we can do is laugh at the crazy situations we find ourselves in as parents.
